Position Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for the security of the MultiCare facilities and the safety of its patients, staff, employees, and visitors within its boundaries. He/she is responsible for filing reports, conducting investigations, and assuring that all hospital safety and security policies are met by all concerned. This position works under limited supervision. Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine situations and functions requiring a service oriented individual, discretion, good judgement, and physical prowess. Internal contacts include staff and management throughout the organization. External contacts include visitors, patients, physicians, and local law enforcement agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

One to three years experience in police, military police, or security, preferable in a health care setting.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

High School graduate or equivalent preferred

Successful completion of Hospital Security Officer Basic Training program and receipt of certification through the International Association for Hospital Security and Safety Foundation within the first 90 days of employment preferred

Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
